Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to pick the perfect rental home:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Holiday Towers #4 Lovely condo on the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
