Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Breathtaking Oceanfront Condo Views w Pool
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
