How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking a perfectvacation home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Hummingbird Nest on Tree Top
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your trip.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
