Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 3rd-floor studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
During your stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
