How to get the best vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the bestrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Incredible 2BR condo in the center of MB has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

During your stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
