Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Short Walk to the Beach, 2 BR/2 Bath Condo with Indoor & Outdoor Pool, Hot tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental.
