Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the best rental value:
- To book the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. *OceanFront* Modern 2/2, Breathtaking Views, Pools has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
