Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by having your group choose a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. \"The Black Pearl\" - This Ultimate Value Oceanfront 2 Bdrm Condo is a Rare Find! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
