Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. A224 Myrtle Beach Resort: Lovely 2 Bed 2 Bath Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
