Finding the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Meridian Plaza, pools, lovely decor, new, nice! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your group.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
