Strategies to get the very best rental experience:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. MRV25, 2-bedroom cottage, Blocks to Beach! Free WIFI, Free Parking has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
