Rental home booking tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Amazing Ocean Front View 2-Bedroom Condo Oceans Enclave has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
