Tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Myrtle Beach Resort - Sea, Sun & Sandcastles - Direct Oceanfront, 3rd Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

Have a great stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
