Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your family select the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. A213 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Wonderful 2 Bedroom Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
