Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the rightvacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Myrtle Beach Resort A347
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
