Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. A430 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Cozy Condo with Great Amenities has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
