Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Stunning Remodeled Oceanfront Suite has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
