Booking the best rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Resort Corner Oceanfront Studio Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
