Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best rental home:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Newly Renovated 4BR/3BA Stilt Home in Ocean Lakes Site 5411 with Lift Elevator has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
