Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Myrtle Beach Resort RT1015 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
