Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.

Selecting the best rental:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. T2012 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Fantastic Ocean View Condo with Bunk Beds has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
