Rental booking tips:

Get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 3 Min Walk to Beach l Close to Boardwalk l 9 Palms has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
