Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Find your perfect rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Large Oceanfront 3 Bed Unit (3rd Floor) - by Luxury Beach Rentals has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
