Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Pets welcome, direct oceanfront, poolside,1 bedroom has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
