Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Seaside Sanctuary, B514 @ The Myrtle Beach Resort Ocean Views\/includes Golf Pkg has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
