Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by having your family select dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beachside Cottage w/ Ocean Views-Trailers Welcome has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your contract.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
