Strategies to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:

  • First, have your family choose trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Lakes Lakefront Palace - Private Hot Tub & Golf Cart Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
