Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes MH152 3 BR - 2 Bath Special off-season Rates has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
