Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and choosing the rightrental home:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. OCEAN VIEW - 7th Floor Landmark Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
