Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing a perfectrental:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Under Renovation! Luxury Updates Pending! Expected Completion Date: June 11! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
