Strategies to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Ocean View King Suite! Perfect for 4 Guests! Sea Mist unit 51304 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
