Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Find your best deal:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Direct Oceanfront 2 Bedroom 3 Bathrooms Boardwalk Resort Unit 539/540 - Sleeps 10 has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
