Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your family decide on a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Recently Updated! Oceanfront Condo-Palace 1404 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
