Booking the best vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your family agree to dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront full condo waterpark\/bar\/restaurant has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
