Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the perfectrental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sand Dunes, 5th Floor, Direct Oceanfront, Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
