Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

Selecting and booking your Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Suite w\/ Fantastic View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
