Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceans One Resort Unit 404 - Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is best for your group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
