How to get the best vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- To book the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose your prefectrental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanview Efficiency DW1202 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
