Our top Rental home booking tips:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- To get the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking the bestrental:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Peaceful Paradise 2BR @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
