Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Peaceful Oceanfront King Suite, 11th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
