Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Tranquility: 6th Floor 1 Bedroom Oceanfront Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
