Strategies for getting the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful pet friendly townhome! Enjoy Myrtle Beach with the whole family! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
