Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Quiet Beach Retreat with Golf Views! <2mi to Beach + Pool, WiFi & Early Check In has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
