Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose and book the rightrental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Roxanne Towers Penthouse 6 - Oceanfront! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
