Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental home:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Seabreeze 3 BR Oceanfron Condo with Pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
