Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by having your family decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Seaside Splendor - Pools - Grills - Sleeps 6 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
