Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- To start, have your family choose vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Serenity by the Sea 10th Flr Ocean View 1BR Condo has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
Have a great stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
