Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Two 2BR\/2BA Villas has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
