Advice for a smooth stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
