Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by having your group decide on trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Stunning Oceanview Penthouse Dogs OK has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
